Dad 10

Its been at least two months since dad has been in the hospital. And he is getting back to his normal self. Not his normal Muslim self, the dad I knew before he became a Muslim. I can tell when he is frustrated, because he cussin and carrying on. At which I try not to laugh, but its just good to see is getting better. His knee is not as swollen and he has lost so much wieght from the dialysis that he has every other day. From this his bowels are starting to work, slowly but surely. So another good thing is happening for him. Now he just has to rehab on his knee. This will be the longer of the steps to get him out the hospital. The timetable is somewhere in July for him to come out. I can't wait for that day because he will be so excited. I have to work on him eating this hospital food, that I know is nasty. But he has to eat it to get stronger for the rehab. But I broke down last week and got him a fish sandwhich and some unsalted fries. But we can't do that everyday, we need him to eat that food since its being pais for anyway. But overall, dad is on the track of getting better to get out.

Dad 9

It's the new year and dad is getting stronger. Stroll in the hospital, but getting stronger each say. Now he wants to leave, but can't because he is still sick. Seeing him yesterday made me smile. Not because he is getting stonger or him wanting to leave which is funny because he cannot. Dad told me that he is proud of me. In my 39 years of life, I have never heard him say that. So now I can feel a little better about myself and let what he said be more motivation for me to continue school.

Dad 8

Gone to see dad tonight and he was better than yesterday. He had his knee drained and cleaned again today and he was so tired. He was up at 6AM to get some work done before the knee surgery. So I let him rest. I will go again tomorrow.

Dad 7

He is doing better by the day. Even though his thoughts have him drifting out. He can be talking clear one moment, then be in left field the next. They say its from his virus, but I think its from some meds he's taking. Not sure but I will find out.

Dad 5

Well dad had had knee surgery today. Theycut him open, drained it, and cleaned it. Unfortunatly they have to do it again on Monday. So I know my dad is tired of them poking and proding him, he just wants to go home. But he can't until they find out about his kidneys.

Dad 6 day 24

Just found out my dad produced 190cc of urine, that is great. It means my dad's kidneys are working. I mean a slightly heavy weight is lifted off my shoulders. So between that and the cleaning of his knee yesterderday, things are looking up for him.

Dad 4

Just found out my dad's kidneys have shut down completely. Now I really have to be strong because it seems like my dad is looking depressed. He is a strong man, but I am not trying to let this deter his positivity to getting out the hospital. So now in the back of my head, I wonder if I am the perfect donor for him. No one has asked me yet, but I am very aware that they could ask me to come in and test for a match for my father.
Because of the kidney failure, dad's eyes were red. Now they are clearing up evertime he has his dialisys. He has to be treated everyday and it drains him and leaves him cold. I know things will get better, just patiently waiting for that day to come.
